Lonza’s Vacsol® preservative product family are a range of non-metal based preservatives for appearance, structural and engineered wood products. The family of  Vacsol®  preservatives provide protection against decay and/or insects and are available with a range of non-aqueous and water based carriers and optional additives depending on the process end product requirements. Supported with Lonza’s process and engineering skills, Vacsol® preservatives are an essential component of the modern wood protection industry in our region.

Within the Vacsol® preservative family there is a product option to suit your requirements.

 

 


The Treatment Process

Vacsol® preservatives are usually applied using a low pressure, double vacuum or similar process for full penetration treatment or an immersion / dip for envelope treatments. A typical double vacuum process for treatment of construction timber is demonstrated in this video.

Vacsol® Azure Concentrate (Aust)

Our Vacsol® Azure Concentrate Wood Preservative incorporates carbon-based and biodegradable triazole and synthetic pyrethroid active constituents and can be blended with a number of carrier systems and additives providing customers with a tailored preservative system for their wood protection requirement.

  • Solvent based carrier.
  • The moisture content or dimensions of the wood products are not affected.
  • Ideal for structural timber and engineered wood products.
  • Effective protection against fungal decay and insect attack for above-ground (H3) applications.
  • Choice of Flammable, Combustible or Low Odour carrier systems.
  • Special additives available.
  • Colour systems available.

Vacsol® Azure Ready-To-Use Preservative (Asia, NZ)

Vacsol® Azure RTU preservative incorporates carbon-based and biodegradable triazole and synthetic pyrethroid active constituents in a hydrocarbon solvent carrier systems, often known as Light Organic Solvent Preservative or LOSP.  Supplied with a range of solution strength and optional  additives, Vacsol® Azure RTU  provides customers with a tailored preservative system for their specific wood protection requirement.

  • The moisture content and dimensions of the wood products are not affected.
  • Ideal for remanufactured and engineered wood products.
  • Effective protection against fungal decay and insect attack for above-ground (H3.1) applications.
  • Suitable for H3 in Australia and UC3A in USA.
  • Special additives available.

Vacsol® Aqua PT Preservative (NZ)

Vacsol® Aqua PT preservative uses the same highly effective active constituents as Vacsol® Azure preservative but is formulated for use in a water borne form rather than in solvent. With Lonza’s proprietary  processes this results in effective treatment for certain types of appearance wood products with minimal dimensional change and moisture content increase.

  • Azole-based wood preservative containing fungicides and insecticides.
  • Uses a waterborne micro-emulsion system.
  • Approved for H1.2 and H3.1 application in New Zealand.
  • Also suitable for H3 in Australia and UC3A in the USA.

Vacsol® T Solvent Concentrate Insecticide/ Ultraframe® System (Aust)

When used as part of our Ultraframe® treatment system, Vacsol® T Solvent Concentrate insecticide is suitable for the treatment of Radiata and Slash pine framing and engineered wood products to H2 level used in all areas of Australia .

  • Solvent based carrier system for dimensional stability.
  • The Ultraframe® system provides the most robust termite protection available.
  • Ultraframe® treated framing can only be produced by impregnation in a vacuum pressure treatment plant.

Vacsol® T Timber Insecticide (Aust)

Vacsol® T Timber Insecticide is a permethrin based insect control preservative that is ideal for prevention of Lyctus borers and other insects from settling on freshly processed hardwood logs, poles and timber, particularly in spring and summer flight seasons.

  • Readily dilutes into water or solvent based carriers.
  • Applied using spray, dip or pressure impregnation plant.
  • Can be used for temporary, remedial or even permanent protection to timber against beetle borers and termites.

Vacsol® 500 SK Insecticide (Fiji, NZ)

Vacsol® 500 SK Insecticide is a permethrin based insect control chemical that is often used with anti-sapstain and anti-mould treatments to discourage pine bark beetles and other insects from settling on freshly processed timber, particularly in spring and summer flight seasons.

  • Can be used for temporary or even permanent protection to timber against beetle borers and termites.
  • Compatible with a wide range of anti-sapstain products as a tank-mix additive for combined stain, mould and insect protection.

Vacsol® K Creosote Preservative (Aust)

Creosote has a reputation for durability that has been proven by more than 50 years of performance in harsh Australian conditions. Vacsol® K Creosote Preservative, is suitable for treatment of timbers to be used in high hazard environments H4, H5 and H6, and is particularly suitable for agricultural and utility end-use applications.

  • Oil based formulation
  • Ideal for utility poles, jetty timbers and agricultural posts.
  • Fire resisting properties.
  • Effective protection against fungal decay and insect attack for high Hazard In-ground (H4, H5, H6) applications.
